Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 1, 2026

Last Updated: October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Academy of Financial Independence ("AFI," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Kristina LaBrusciano, handles personal information in connection with aficompany.online and the Personal Finance Education Program — Personal Financial Planning.

1. Scope

This policy applies to information collected through this website, checkout, customer support, and AFI's learning platform for this program. Third-party payment, financing, analytics, communications, and platform providers also process information under their own privacy notices.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with AFI, we may collect:

- identifiers and contact information, including name, email address, phone number, and billing contact information;

- purchase and transaction information, including product, price, currency, payment method category, transaction status, refund status, and provider transaction identifiers;

- account and learning information, including login records, program access, learning progress, assignment submissions, and support communications;

- technical information, including IP address, device and browser information, cookie identifiers, and security or activity logs; and

- information you choose to provide in inquiries, refund requests, assignments, or support communications.

Payment providers process complete payment card details. AFI does not store complete card numbers. If a customer selects a pay-over-time provider, that provider separately collects and evaluates application information. AFI does not receive complete consumer-report, underwriting, or bank-login information used by that provider to determine eligibility.

3. Sources

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your use of the website or platform, and from service providers involved in payment processing, checkout, access delivery, communications, security, analytics, and customer support.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

- provide accurate program and checkout information;

- process and document purchases, refunds, and access delivery;

- create and administer learning-platform access;

- provide educational and customer support;

- respond to inquiries and privacy requests;

- maintain security, prevent fraud, and protect users and AFI;

- keep accounting, tax, and transaction records;

- understand and improve the website and program; and

- comply with law and valid requests from payment providers, banks, regulators, and public authorities.

We do not use information received from a pay-over-time provider to decide whether a customer is eligible for that provider's financing.

5. How we disclose information

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:

- payment and checkout providers, including Stripe and a customer-selected pay-over-time provider;

- learning-platform, hosting, email, communications, analytics, security, and customer-support providers;

- professional advisers who are subject to confidentiality obligations;

- public authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security; and

- a successor in a legitimate merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

Service providers receive information for defined business purposes and are expected to protect it and use it only as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

6. Sale and sharing

AFI does not sell personal information for money. AFI does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. If this practice changes, AFI will update this policy and provide any legally required choice.

7. Cookies and analytics

The website and its providers may use necessary cookies for site operation, security, checkout, and account access and limited analytics technologies to understand site use. Browser settings may allow you to block or delete cookies, although necessary features may not work correctly if essential cookies are disabled.

8. Retention

AFI retains information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including:

- account, access, learning, and support records: while active and generally up to three years afterward;

- transaction, refund, accounting, and tax records: generally seven years;

- security and technical logs: generally 12 to 24 months; and

- marketing contact information, if any: until consent is withdrawn or it is no longer needed.

Longer retention may apply when required by law, a legal hold, fraud prevention needs, or an unresolved dispute.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of personal information; to learn about categories of collection and disclosure; to opt out of sale or sharing if such activity occurs; and to receive non-discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right.

Send requests to info@kristinashadrina.com. AFI may verify identity and may retain or decline to delete information where a legal exception applies. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law and supported by appropriate authorization.

Marketing emails, if sent, will contain an unsubscribe method. Transactional and service messages related to a purchase or account may continue when necessary.

10. Security

AFI uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect account credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

11. Children

The website and program are intended for adults age 18 or older and are not directed to children. AFI does not knowingly collect personal information from a child through this program. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.

12. International access

AFI is based in California, United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards. Payment methods may have separate geographic eligibility requirements; any pay-over-time option displayed at checkout is limited to customers and transactions supported by that provider.

13. Changes

AFI may update this policy prospectively. The current version and update date will remain posted on this page. Material changes will be communicated when required by law.
